Children’s Ministry Vision

To partner with and equip parents to raise a generation of children who:

  • Grow in Christ and spiritual maturity
  • Discover, develop, and use their gifts for the glory of God
  • Pursue a God-centered vision of life
  • Engage in worship, study, prayer, and service
  • Have a clear vision for godly manhood and womanhood

Children’s Ministry Philosophy

Our desire is to be relationally connected to each child’s family and to provide a nurturing and gracious atmosphere where every child feels loved, valued, respected, accepted, cared for and safe. We will pursue an environment where every parent is confident concerning the well-being of his or her child while participating in the life of the church.

Our desire is to engage both the parents’ and the church body’s willingness to provide a clear understanding of God’s Word through age appropriate instruction, worship, outreach and special events. Our teaching, curriculum and programs will be Christ-centered and taught from a Biblical worldview perspective.

We commit to encourage and equip parents with tools and resources to help them be the primary spiritual influencers in their homes.

In total reliance upon God’s transforming grace, we will cultivate an understanding of the story of scripture, guide children in prayer and worship, teach them to live gospel centered lives, encourage children to trust in the promises of God and give children an opportunity to see the hand of God at work in their own lives and in the world.

Covenant Parenting

“Children's ministry is driven by our covenant baptismal vows. For those who baptize covenant children (i.e., the children of professed believers), there’s typically a point in the sacrament where the pastor asks the congregation if each member will commit to ‘assisting the parents in the Christian nurture of this child.’ Of course (since the child is so cute), the entire congregation enthusiastically says, ‘YES!’ In making this commitment, the adults of the congregation affirm they are ‘covenant parents’ to the children who are baptized. Children’s ministry is the natural and biblical outgrowth of this commitment. Children’s ministry exists to both LEAD and ASSIST parents in the education and discipline of their children.” John Kwasny, Children’s Ministry 101 p. 8

We share this commitment to nurture all children who engage in any of the activities sponsored by our church.
